Onlays and Inlays
All images in our galleries are of treatments carried out at Jenkins Dental.
Inlays and onlays can be used instead of fillings or crowns and they are especially suitable for the chewing surfaces of back teeth.
An inlay sits in the hole in the tooth. An onlay sits on the tooth and builds up its shape. These porcelain or composite restorations are precision made in the dental laboratory. The tooth is prepared at the first visit, impressions taken and sent to the lab. Two weeks later at the second visit the restoration is fitted onto the tooth.
Ask your dentist about any treatments which you may be interested in and for more detailed information.
